PETALING JAYA: OCK Group Bhd has entered into a distributorship agreement with Japan-based Fujikura Ltd to distribute the latter’s Wrapping Tube Cable (WTC) series.

Fujikura delivers high-performance fiber optic cables, accessories, and integrated systems that enable reliable, high-speed data transmission for telecom operators, data centers, and smart city projects worldwide.

In a statement, OCK, a telecommunication network solutions provider and regional towerco, said the distribution agreement will take effect from January 2026 and will be valid until December 2026.

“Under this agreement, OCK will distribute Fujikura’s WTC solutions carrying a wide variety of related accessories, enabling the group to further strengthen its supply chain capabilities and broaden its product offerings across the diverse business segments that it operates in.

“Fujikura will retain the right to modify product specifications and provide consistent updates on newly developed products to ensure continuous technological advancements from one of the leading fibre optic manufacturers.”

OCK said the collaboration aligns with its ongoing commitment to support Malaysia’s accelerating fibre rollout and network upgrading initiatives.

“With expanding demand for high performance fibre infrastructure driven by smart city, data centre, artificial intelligence adoption, enterprise digitalisation and 5G implementation, the addition of Fujikura’s optical cable solutions further enhances the group’s value proposition as an end-to-end digital and telecommunication solutions provider.”

OCK Group managing director Datuk Sam Ooi Chin Khoon said: “This partnership will enhance our capability to deliver reliable and future-ready fibre solutions to the market, supporting the activity for network infrastructure expansion as well as upgrades.

“By leveraging on Fujikura’s advanced product range, we believe that we will be able to better serve the evolving requirements of telecom operators, data centres and renowned enterprise clients nationwide.”
