KUALA LUMPUR: Berjaya Corp Bhd (BCorp) is cautiously optimistic that its business performance will remain satisfactory for the remaining quarters of the financial year ending June 30, 2026.

“The performance of the domestic business segments of the group is expected to improve on the back of strong consumer spending and improvement in tourism activities,” the conglomerate said in a statement.

It noted that the number forecast operator (NFO) business is expected to continue delivering growth, supported by the popularity of its Jackpot and Digit games, while maintaining its leading market share in the legalised NFO sector.

In the second quarter ended Dec 31, 2025 (2Q26), BCorp’s net loss narrowed to RM44.2mil, or 0.76 sen per share, from RM88.7mil a year earlier.

Quarterly revenue inched up to RM2.21bil from RM2.20bil previously.

“The significant improvement was primarily attributed to the reversal of impairment in associated companies, which was partially offset by weaker performance in the hospitality and non-food retail business segments, as well as the unfavourable unrealised foreign exchange losses arising from the strengthening of the ringgit, “ BCorp said.

For the first six months, the group recorded a smaller net loss of RM55.1mil compared with RM256.5mil, while revenue rose to RM4.52bil from RM4.43bil a year ago.
